WELL, HI THERE!

Welcome to Twisted Chameleon, my quirky, little space on the web. 

Excuse the excessive use of pink.  It's my and my kid's favorite color.  Plus, I get to say things like, "I'm tickled pink to have you here!"--which is 100% true!

WHO I AM

My name is, Ane (pronounced Ah-nah).   I know, it doesn't look like it should be pronounced that way, but then there's also words like knight, jeopardy and zucchini that make "Ane = Ah-nah" halfway make sense.

Since May of 2000, when I quit the last corporate job I'd ever have and started on my journey as an entrepreneur, I've been dreaming of building a business that allowed me to share my artwork.  I've had a few businesses since, but never one that allows me to expose and share so much of my soul and purpose.

Well, it took me 18 years to finally muster up the courage to show my artwork to ANYONE besides my mom and daughter (who love literally every piece of art I create so they are my safe space).  And yet another year before I was able to build up enough inner-badassery to actually think I could sell my artwork.  BUT, here we are!  Finally.  Exhale.

Welcome to a dream come true for this hot mess of an entrepreneur who just wants to sell awesome stuff with her artwork on it in order to support the people and causes she loves.

WHAT YOU'RE SUPPORTING

I am excited to share my artwork.  But let's get real.  I opened up this online shop to use my artwork to make money—money that helps me and the people who make our products and help run this shop provide for our families. Personally, I take care of 3 little ones (one kid and two short parents 😆). 

I never had dreams of driving lambos or popping that $425 pill that actually makes your poop gold colored (YES!  That's an actual thing. Google it. But Google it later after you buy something here 😆.)   I'm not about that lambo-drivin', gold-poopin' life.

My life is my daughter.  My life is my mom and pops.  My life is about my family and friends.  And it's about serving a purpose greater than myself.

Since I was a teen, that greater purpose has been to help girls victimized by sexual violence.  Through the years, the purpose has grown to include victims of trafficking and sex trade.  Besides raising my mini-me and hugging my mom, the mission of eradicating sex trafficking gives me a sense of purpose like nothing else.

And that's where you come in.

When you purchase from Twisted Chameleon, a portion of what you spend goes to supporting causes that save victims of sex trade.  My favorite organization doing this important work is Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R).

In their own words, O.U.R. exists to rescue children from sex trafficking.  They are paving the way for permanent eradication of child sex trafficking through coordinated rescue and victim recovery planning.  In the past four years of existence, O.U.R. has rescued thousands of victims and assisted in the arrests of hundreds of traffickers around the world.

I'm an O.U.R. Abolitionist, giving monthly support to help fund rescue missions.  As our business grows, so does our support to O.U.R.  My goal is for us, the Twisted Chameleon family, to one day be able to fund entire rescue missions.  O.U.R. won't stop doing the work until EVERY victim of sex trafficking is saved.  It seems like an impossible task, but that's a dream worth chasing.
